Why it works without one
The rules do not live in your account
A card's earn rates are published by the issuer, identical for everyone holding that product. Reading your statements does not reveal them; it only reveals you. So CardSwipe keeps the rules and skips the statements.
Which cards you hold is one short list
Aggregation exists to discover your wallet automatically. Typing three to six card names takes under a minute, once, and removes the reason to hold a credential at all.
The merchant is a place, not a transaction
To answer before you pay, the app needs the store in front of you, not the purchase behind you. Location resolves that on the device, and it is never kept as a history of where you shop.
What is never collected cannot leak
There is no credential vault to breach, no token to revoke, and nothing to hand over on request. The strongest privacy guarantee is an empty table.
What you give up, stated plainly
- No automatic spend tracking against a card's cap, so a 4x rate that has run out of headroom is flagged by date, not by your balance.
- No auto-activation of issuer offers. CardSwipe reminds you; the tap is yours.
- No automatic wallet discovery. A new card is a card you add by hand.
If those trades are worth it to you, the rest of the product is on how it works and compare.
Be the reflex, not the afterthought
